Ecdysone extract is obtained from the dew grass plant, typically appearing as a off-white to white powder. The conventional extraction involves grinding the dew grass plant and soaking it in a suitable solvent (such as ethanol or water), followed by filtration and concentration to obtain the extract. It is used in the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries, with its main component being hydroxyecdysone. The mechanism of action is to stimulate cell division and growth, increase production, and improve skin texture from a deeper level, effectively treating hyperpigmentation and whitening the skin, as well as repairing skin structure. The extract is from the roots of the dew grass plant (Cyanotis arachnoidea CB.Clarke).
